This Privacy Policy is intended to be read together with our Terms of Use.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information we process when you:
- create an account or log in,
- use mock interviews and related features,
- interact with the Services, and
- communicate with us.
It does not cover third-party websites or services that we do not control.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you submit directly to the Services, including:
- Account Data: username and email address (managed via Clerk).
- Session Data: mock interview content you create or submit (for example, prompts, responses, and related session metadata) and AI-generated outputs associated with those sessions.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Services, we (and our service providers) may collect:
- Device and Usage Data: basic information about how the Services are accessed and used (for example, pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and performance events).
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and diagnostic information generated by servers and infrastructure.
2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- authenticate users and maintain sessions,
- provide and secure the Services, and
- collect analytics and performance information (including via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights).
You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may limit functionality of the Services.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the Services (authentication, session functionality, saving your mock interviews, and generating outputs),
- Maintain and secure the Services (fraud prevention, abuse monitoring, access control, and incident response),
- Improve performance and reliability (debugging, monitoring, and service optimization),
- Communicate with you (service notices, support responses, and administrative messages), and
- Comply with law and enforce our agreements (including the Terms of Use).
4. How Mock Interview History Works
Mock interviews are saved as Session Data so you can access your history.
You can view and delete your own mock interview history within the App. Deletion removes the associated Session Data from our active systems, subject to:
- reasonable time to process deletion,
- limited backup retention cycles, and
- retention where required to comply with law, protect our users, or enforce our agreements.
5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers and Processors
We use third-party vendors to operate the Services. These vendors may process information on our behalf, including:
- Clerk (authentication and user management),
- Supabase (database and application data storage),
- Upstash (caching/queues/related infrastructure),
- Vercel (hosting and performance tooling, including Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights), and
- AI Providers (OpenAI API) to generate outputs.
These providers are permitted to process information only to deliver services to us and in accordance with applicable contractual and legal obligations.
5.2 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request,
- enforce our Terms of Use, or
- protect the rights, property, or safety of LPS, our users, or others.
5.3 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. AI Provider Data Handling and Model Training
6.1 LPS Use of User Content for Training
We do not use your Session Data or User Content to train proprietary models owned by Launch Point Solutions LLC.
We may use de-identified and aggregated operational metrics (for example, feature usage counts, error rates, and latency) to improve the Services, provided such metrics are not used to identify you.
6.2 OpenAI API Processing and Training Defaults
To generate outputs, the Services may transmit portions of Session Data and User Content to OpenAI via the OpenAI API.
OpenAI states in its API documentation that, as of March 1, 2023, data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the customer explicitly opts in.
Important: Provider policies and account settings can change. We encourage you to review the AI provider's current documentation and data controls.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide and operate the Services,
- maintain security and prevent abuse,
- comply with legal obligations, and
- resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
Retention periods vary based on data type and purpose. For example:
- Account Data is retained while your account is active and as needed thereafter for legitimate operational and legal purposes.
- Session Data is retained until you delete it (plus limited backup retention cycles).
- Technical logs and analytics data may be retained for limited periods consistent with operational needs.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the Services. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity under your account.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- access information we hold about you,
- request deletion of certain information,
- correct inaccurate information, and
- object to or restrict certain processing.
In-App Controls: You can delete your saved mock interview history in the App.
Requests: You may contact us at legal@launchpointsolutions.co with privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not intended for individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact legal@launchpointsolutions.co.
11. International Users
We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your location.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when changes become effective. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated Privacy Policy.
